Yellow Ribbon

There is this project assigned to my group mates is to complete a poster series about an issue in Singapore. And we happily picked the yellow ribbon. -.- This isn't a lame topic but a hard one. What we need to do is that through these series posters we have raise the awareness of people to forgive the ex-convict and allows them to return back to the world that we are living in.

Yellow Ribbon is launched open in the year of 2004, in this project they seeks to engage the community in accepting ex-offenders and their families, giving them a second chance at life and to inspire a ripple effect of concerted community action to support ex-offenders and their families.

They have three big objectives:

  • Raise Awareness of the need to give second chances to ex-offenders and their families.
  • Generate Acceptance of ex-offenders and their families in the community.
  • Inspire community Action to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders back into society.

  • Ex-convict do change over a new leaf after they are being release from the prison, the ones that we sees on the papers are only a handful that keeps on repeating their mistakes. So, why are we so afraid of the ex-convict? Employers have mindsets that ex-convict are baddie and discriminates them by not hiring them, or saying harsh words. this is bad.

I guess in this project we will increase the big three objectives of the yellow ribbon to the community and slowly change the community mindset against ex-convict.
